Marilyn’s vision of how an administrative services company can rise to the top is largely why Black Tulip has enjoyed such success over the past 25 years. It’s all about embracing the qualities of a performing arts organization—including the people who have experience working in such organizations—and applying such star power to every-day business.

“Long after they’ve left life on the stage, performing artists carry a vision with them of possibility,” Marilyn explains, “No task is too big, too small, too daunting, or in some instances, too unusual. It is in our blood to be open, and to always do the very best we can. We take everything we’re asked to do in our stride and do it well. We simply know no other way.”

Born in Winnipeg, Marilyn enjoyed a successful career as a dancer, choreographer and teacher. She and Joost are the proud parents of Jessica, a talented chef and an equally talented administrator and even prouder grandparents of their first grandchild Willow Grace. After 23 years in the business, Marilyn has taken a step back from her day-to-day role to spend more time with family.
